ROSWELL, Ga. - Funeral services for James "Jimmy” Jerome Hotten Sr., 59, of Roswell, a Bell South employee, at 11 a.m. Friday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel, Jackson. He died May 16, 2006, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Pallative Care Unit. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Brandon.
Mr. Hotten had lived in Roswell, Ga., for 12 years. His last year was spent in Birmingham, Ala., while undergoing treatment for kidney cancer. He and his wife, Martha, attended Faith Presbyterian Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who delighted to spend time with his family and friends.
Mr. Hotten was the son of the late Jerome P. Hotten and Geraldine Hotten of Brandon and was preceded in death by his sister, Jerry Floyd.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Hotten of Roswell, Ga.; a son, James "Jim” Jerome Hotten Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Sherry Edwards and her husband, Ed, and Ruby Griffin and her husband, Kenny, all of Greenville, Miss., Frances Berry of Dallas, Texas, and Missy Wallace and her husband, Blake, of Midlothian, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
