TENTATIVELY, the funeral is planned for SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 2022, in Katy, TX, at the Grace Anglican Church at 24968 Katy Ranch Road; Katy TX.  This is near the intersection of Grand Parkway and I-10 (AKA Katy Freeway).  The church is located on the south side of a large shopping center EAST of the Katy Mills Mall.  

Visitation is planned for Friday evening at the SCHMIDT FUNERAL HOME on EAST Ave. in Katy, TX.  Time to be arranged in a day or so.  

We are also looking into having a memorial service sometime in May in Franklin, TN.  For more on this, classmates may text Dave Orr at 615-973-4807 after April 24 who will provide additional info if the memorial is forthcoming.  

Susan taught Language Arts at Katy High School in Katy, TX,; Houston Community College in Houston, TX;   Franklin High School in Franklin, TN.  and also  Midland TX, as well as Brookshire Royal High School in Brookshire TX.   Suzie's students won hundreds of  writing and speaking awards (National and International)  over her career.  She was honored by the Tenn Legislature and Governor as "Tennessee's Ambassador of Goodwill" for her teaching accomplishments and had a day in January of her retirement year declared "Suzie Orr Day in TN."   

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Suzie may be made to her educational sorority, Mu Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa to fund scholarships for future educators (a scholarship program Suzie strongly supported, including serving on the scholarship committee).  Donations may be mailed to:

Suzie was a resident of Franklin, TN, at the time of her passing.
