Comments:

After graduation, I spent the summer getting ready to enter Delta State University in the fall.
On that Sunday afternoon when my parents left me sitting there in a strange place (oldest dorm on campus, my thoughts were that four years was forever, but four years later I recieved my degree in Elementary Education. It's now 50 years later and only seems like yesterday.

In the fall of '66 I saw Richard at the local county fair. We had a good time catching up on what the two of us had been doing during the past year. It sounded as though he had had a wonderful summer in Ct., but had to come home to visit Uncle Sam. He chose not to go back to school in the fall instead he was working in his father's business waiting for Uncle Sam's decision.

He and I began dating right after that meeting and continued until June 1970 when we were married. I graduated in 1969 and began teaching at Ella Darling.

After RWR and I married in June we moved to New Orleans for the next year, where I taught third grade to a group of wonderful kids. Richard worked in a frame shop in the downtown area. My school was on the West Bank. Thank goodness we had an apartment on the west bank and I didn't have to cross the river every day

We then moved back to Greenville where Richard went to work with he father and I went back to the public school.

In '75 I started graduate school going nights and summers I finished in '80 with a Masters in Education. I contunied to teach in Greenville until May 2000, at which time I choose to retire since we had now gotten our daughter out of college and on her own.

We have one daughter, Amie, who was born in 1977. She is married to a wonderful young man, James Clark, they have three beautiful children Ashland 10 and SaraGrace 6 and Shaun Patrick now 3 years.

After I retired I helped Richard with the stained glass business he started in 1985. He did all the designs and cutting of the glass I helped with the fitting and soldering. I also worked part time at Lourdes until 2005, at which time there was an opening for a first grade teacher and was talked into taking the job by the teachers and friends I had made at the school. I retired from there May2009.

I am now enjoying watching T V, reading, sewing, visiting grandchildren and doing what I want to do.

Thanks to Robin for setting up this site. I find my self spending much time just looking to see who has responded in any way. It will also help when we decide to begin work on another reunion.

I have the master copy of the 40th reunion booklet that was printed. If there is any interest in anyone wanting a copy I will check to see how much it will cost to have copies made for those who want one.

Looking forward to hearing from my classmates.
