Nancy Barner Brock of Crystal Springs, age 68, passed away on August 24, 2015 at Hardy Wilson Hospital in Hazlehurst, MS. She fought a brave battle against cancer for 13 years.
 
She was born February 12, 1947 in Greenwood, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James H. and Marjorie Barner. She grew up in the Mississippi Delta with her one brother and three sisters, in a Christian home that instilled the values that made her the beautiful person that she was, with her infectious smile and boisterous laugh there were few who crossed her path that were not affected in an impactful way. She was just one of those people that made things better.
 
Smart and talented, she attended college at Delta State where she was selected as a beauty. She spent her career as a legal secretary at the largest law firm in the Southeast, Butler-Snow.
 
Her husband and partner in life, Buddy, grew up across the street from her, from the age of 10. They maintained their relationship through high school and married during their college years. They spent 60 years together, 49 years in marriage.
 
She is survived by her husband, Buddy Brock of Crystal Springs; her children, Robin Brock Torrence (Marty Torrence), JimBob Brock (Liz Brock), and Joe Pat Brock (Karen Brock); her grandchildren, Meagan Torrence, Dylan Torrence, Lexie Brock Polzin, Houston Brock, Aaron Clark, Josh Clark, Madison Brock, Alyssa Brock, Brooklyn Brock, Katherine Brock, JP Brock; one great grandchild Skylar Clark; brother Jimmy Barner; sisters Patricia Barner Flynn, Donna McWilliams, and Cathy Barner Hendrix.
 
She was loved dearly by her family and friends and brought love and happiness to all she knew.
 
Service for Nancy will be at new Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, MS on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Visitation is at 9am and services at 11am. There will be a reception at the church following graveside services at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.

She had a voice of an angel
   I could listen all day long.
One took comfort in her smile
   Her words were like a song.

Her laughter was so infectious.
   She had a laugh that could make you cry.
She had a knack for performing for us
   Yet, there was understanding in her eyes.

I'm gonna miss my dear friend, Nancy,
   Now that she's gone to that sweet by and by.
I know I'll see her again some day,
   And so you'll know... Yes, grown men do cry.
